Lunch Lady LandPosted by Prime Method on Wed, 08/28/2013 - 16:01
When I think of school lunch there are two things that pop into my head. Adam Sandler singing “Lunch Lady Land” and a pizza combo (pizza, french fries and sweet tea). The second one was an actual combo deal that was served in my high school and I hate to admit it but I ate it more than once. Every time I ate the soggy fries and mystery meat topped pizza there was that little voice in the back of my head that reminded me how much better it was when I brought my own lunch. My mom was smart about helping us make healthy lunch decision and she would give us weekly allowance and/or lunch money. We could spend the entire amount on school lunches or we could pack a healthy lunch from home and save the money for the weekend.
If your children aren’t at the age where they can pack their own lunches, here are some quick and healthy ideas for packing mid-day meals. These also work great for us adults!
